When it comes to rectangular plastic with buttons, not as cool the credit card-sized calculator -- but still impressive.

I've seen one of these keypad credit cards while standing in line at a Dim Sum Eatery at the Hong Kong International Aiport and just thought it was a very slim calculator. Which is also a common sight all throughout Asia, calculators, that is. I'm always amazed at the neat gadgets I see in Asia, such as your cell phone behaving like a credit card or wallet in Japan. Anyone remember the smart chips that came with some credit cards? American Express Blue Card was one such card. I don't think it has penetrated the market as well as card issuers visioned, so it will be interesting to see how the keypad credit card does. I'd love to have one to test out when it becomes available in the States.

dude, from what i understand, in parts of asia they have like freaking flying cars and can start their cars with their cell phones. if they didn't have keypads on their phones 5 years ago I'd be surprised.

I am not sure, but I think there are similar devices already in use in some parts of Asia. The idea of having a keyboard in a CC is actually not new.
