IBM apparently prides itself on work/life balance. All you conspiracy theorists need to stop and think that maybe, just maybe, this was a comment about the amount of hours required and the location in which he'd be required to work them (IBM staff are often allowed to work from home).

You really think an HR manager would threaten a former employee? Jesus, some people have no idea about the corporate world.

upon further investigation I found that this threat was made by no other than IBM's Senior VP of Human Resources Randall MacDonald. You can see the court documents your self: http://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/new-york/nysdce/7:2008cv09078/334178/12/.

- If this is how the top exec of IBM's HR department acts I can't imagine why anyone would want to work there

IBM implored Papermaster “to consider the effect of his decision on his family.”

-Wow, I didn't realize IBM was the type of company to stoop down to that level. Call me crazy, but that sounds like a direct threat from IBM to Papermaster's family. IBM doesn't offer employment. They offer indentured servitude.

Prospective employees beware: Is IBM (aka the big blue tyranny) really the type of company you want to be working for?
