Overall, yes, I agree with you Devin, you can always wait "another year" but consider what will be mainstream in a year beyond just the processor:

-new Windows Version (what Vista should have been x64)
-500GB SSD finally affordable as the main HDs
-tock (faster, more efficient quad maybe octa)
-DDR3 mainstream
-OLED monitor
-USB3
-1GB GPU

This, at least to me, is worth waiting for if you don't NEED a new laptop right now and can make-due with what you got for a little longer. All this stuff will be at the same price as high-end features are now.

no, i'd say now is the time to buy - this is the optimized version of the 45nm process, it's going to be fantastic for just about everything. You can of course always wait another year for the next iteration, but I think the Nehalems are a big step.

I didn't see anything from HP - I bet they're prepping a Blackbird though.

I want one, but will definitely wait until others start taking advantage of it's power and architecture better....and of course the price comes down.

But they are so sexy.

In other words, wait a year for the Intel "Tock" and by then, SSD HD will be cheap and plentyful enough to make any laptop more powerful than a Craig! AMD should also be in the race by then with their updated laptop processors so the deals will only get better for consumers!

Why no news from HP regarding these processors?
