Having a dedicated numeric keypad can be a lifesaver occasionally, and while a dedicated pad with real keys is the best, a little application can turn the iPhone or iPod Touch into an impromptu one as well. The Numberkey is only $1.99 and utilizes WiFi (really? no Bluetooth) for the 18-keypad connectivity. Four skins (after the jump) come with the app so you can match up your new keypad with your notebook’s keyboard. Nice.

Four skins.
foreskins?
That is pretty nifty. What I really miss though, is the Insert/Home/Pageup/Delete/End/Page Down keys. A dollar and ninety nine cents to the developer who can get me that!
Seems kind of silly, the whole point of the num pad is to type without looking (five key hump) that would be hard without real buttons.
Exactly what I was thinking. The 10-key’s there for high-speed, no-look data entry, like touch typing. A touch screen’s lack of tactile feedback makes this impossible. Waste of an app.
Awesome, I really like this app, its awesome I haven’t actually used it yet but I will give it a try
True about the tactile feedback, however, if the response time is fast enough, this could be potentially useful for applications (i.e. a lot of computer games) where the extra keys are almost necessary.
God for computer games until you don’t use the keys for a little bit and the screen turns off without you knowing it. Not very useful when it isn’t there.
You can easily disable the auto lock feature.
yes its really good application. main thing is that this phone is very handy and user friendly. thanks for making us good information of this phone from your post.
Is this item still available for sales, I intend purchasing for a friend in west africa since his birthday is around the corner, I would be adding $100 for shipment and handling. Please get back to me if you like

Lol, never thought of something like that; but it’s definitely creative to say the least.
