PR message of the week #2: Verbatim

Reader at Glark.org points to another excellent example of an odd press release he got this week. Perhaps they fired all the older folks and kept the associates:

Want to give your folks, grandparents, friends a special music memory disc this year they’ll play and enjoy?

Man are you in luck!!

Don’t think just a CD is something they can handle. There’s one that is cool…hip…groovey…you’ll make em flip this holiday !!!

That’s right do your own mix and put it on Verbatim’s DigitalVinyl CDR discs. They actually look and feel like a 45 (run your finger across the surface and feel the grooves !!!). Then blow their mind when you pop it in your or their CD player…HOLY CRUD !!!!

  • It’s painful to read this. Mostly because some poor sap thought that this sounded good and it would be OK to send out…

  • Do you want the look of vinyl and the sound quality of laser beams?

Do you cast a longing glance back through the annals of time, pining for a day when life was simpler and well-loved records skipped like a child playing hopscotch?

When you DJ at the wedding next weekend, do you want to amaze everyone with the street cred that comes standard with CDs that look like 45s?

Of course you do, Nicholas Deleon.

    Of course you do.

That’s why Verbatim is tickled pink to announce our new line of DigitalVinyl Compact Disc Recordable discs. And if you order in the next five minutes, we’ll include little paper sleeves that look like album covers! Adorable!

So this holiday season, remind everyone that we built this city on rock and roll with the new Verbatim DigitalVinyl Compact Disc Recordable discs (DVCDRds).

See, it’s just not that hard. Call me up, Verbatim. Let’s chat.

  • “Holy crud” hahah, seriously?

  • I bought a bunch of these and yes, they look great… and 3 out of 10 FAIL to write. I’ll stick to the new fangled type CDs that look like CDs.

  • Haven’t these things been out forever. I think they have. HOLY CRUD!
