Samsung has something special today with the 23-inch 2494HS SyncMaster LCD full HD monitor. It comes packing with HDMI, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, but most importantly, a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Not only does the monitor have DVI-D and VGA, but also a HDCP friendly HDMI input which will work nicely with computers, Blu-ray players, and yup, even Netflix via Xbox 360. The monitor is expected to carry a MSRP of 40,000 yen ($420 USD) when it drops in the Japanese market in the middle of December.

  • Great monitor for gaming and PC use. Only downside is that I can’t use 1080p output setting on my ps3, screen just goes blank, so I’m using 1080i :( any ideas??

  • Will a Sony HDR-HC3 Video Camera play HD video directly into the input HDMI port of the SAmsung 2494HS LCD Display screen ?

    Regards
    Henry

  • I’ve got one as well and it doesn’t work with the PS3 (even though it works with other HDMI devices). I just get a blank screen and a no signal message.

Samsung is no help whatsoever. They don’t know what’s wrong and have stopped answering my messages since they don’t want to do anything about this issue.

Can somebody help me? Should the monitor work on 1080i? I haven’t had any success.

  • I bought this monitor not too long ago and would like to know which graphics card is recommended for this monitor. I’m a big gamer and bought it for the quality of the display; now i’m having trouble with the software of my graphics card. I’ve got a Nvidia card which i acquired about 3 and a half years ago. Now i need a new one to go with my new monitor. Please advise.
