Short Version: The Kensington 4-Port USB Charger is an ideal solution for people toting multiple USB-powered gadgets who want to charge more than one of those gadgets at a time without looking for open USB ports and wall sockets.

Pros:

In what may be the epitome of a great stocking stuffer for the special geek in your life, this Kensington 4-in-1 doodad solves a big problem for people who carry multiple mobile devices that can be charged via USB. And at roughly the size of a single regular wall charger, you can toss it in your bag with four well-wrangled USB cables and hit the road. It’s a simple solution to a simple (but agitating) problem.

Cons:

It costs $30, which seems a bit steep but, hey, you gotta charge up your gadgets, right? And it’s a far better solution than using up four USB ports on your computer or trying to find four separate USB wall chargers and four open outlets. If you’re a true stickler you could get the same effect with a powered USB hub, although it wouldn’t be nearly as elegant.

Recommendation:

It replaces a bunch of your chargers, which makes packing for a trip all that much easier. Plus even at home, you’ve got a pretty good solution for juicing up a handful of gadgets all at once. If you can handle the $30 price tag, the Kensington 4-Port USB Charger is well worth the money.
