Agree with Eric – if you have AppleCare, any Apple keyboard or mouse will also be covered for as long as the computer is. At least that’s always been the case for me. I have the aluminum keyboard on an older G5 tower (not standard) and they replaced it. Then, I had a Mighty Mouse go south, and they also replaced it. On each occasion, the tech told me because it was used on the same computer that AppleCare was on, they were covered. Hope this helps, and good luck!

But, if you do have to get a replacement, the Matias is great if you link the older, clicky keyboard. I’ve weaned myself off of it, and now use the thin aluminum one, but I kept the Matias, just in case.

Take your keyboard back to the Apple store and see what they can do for you. I took my Apple bluetooth mouse back when it broke after about a year of usage and they gave me a new one. My keyboard is now about a year and a half old and still going strong. I really like the older white ones…mostly because you can get a wireless one that still has the number pad on it. That, and the keys feel pretty good.

Use the new aluminum keyboards that Apple sells. It’s the best keyboard I’ve ever used, but I’ve heard a lot of people hate them, I love them and feel like they let me type faster then any other keyboard I’ve ever used.

Another vote for Matias Tactile Pro Keyboard. I have an old one, but the newer versions with USB 2 support are also great.

I think the second keyboard suit your apple MAC fully. hha
I often use micro keyboard in my Mac.

If you can find a used Matias Tactile Pro Keyboard (old one, not the newer one), they’re great, and built like a tank. I’ve got one I’ve used for years on several Macs.

Another vote for the Wave, and ditto on the mouse. I use a MacPro for both development and gaming so I’m using the Wave with a Logitech G5 gaming mouse.

The Logitech S530 is really nice. Wireless is the only way to go. Funny thing; I purchased this to use with my MBP, but I’ve ended up using it with my Vista desktop. It has no “num lock” or “prnt-screen” keys, so I have to use the on screen keyboard every once in a while.

However, this is a really nice setup.

Using the Logitech S530 wireless Keyboard/mouse combo for Mac, very nice keyboard, however I don’t use the mouse, as I prefer my Logitech VX Revolution.

I use the GoldTouch keyboard when my laptop is at home. I’ve considered getting one for my iMac (now that I’m using it more).

One thing that is great is no numeric keypad! I never use it, why do I want it taking up space on my desk? Besides, the mouse can move closer to the keys I really use!

the flat aluminum apple keyboards are awesome. if thats the one u just burned through, well then, i’m impressed, cuz i’ve been pounding on one for two months straight now and it still feels and looks like new.

I’m using the Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave here at work, which is a Windows/Mac hybrid keyboard–there’s both Windows and Mac labels on all respective keys. I really like it, it’s comfortable, the keys are nicely somewhere between clicky and squishy, the media buttons work perfectly with either Mac or PC, and I’ve been using mine five days a week for almost a year and it still looks and feels like new. I like it so much that I have the corded version at home on my Windows PC.

I’d recommend getting a different mouse if you buy the cordless package, as it’s not the greatest, or upgrading to the Pro package with the nicer MX 1100.
