I have to disagree with the characterization. While I have experienced a few buggy applications that have force closed, my G1 hasn't crashed in the 6 weeks that I've owned it. I typically wait to install new apps until they're vetted a bit. One way that android isn't a PC though is that once you uninstall the offending application, there are no longer any negative effects. My old winmo phone was definitely a PC but not my G1.

After almost a month of daily use, I still have only had 1 OS crash of my G1, and a few app crashes, of buggy apps that were then uninstalled.

No kidding - even as a tech blogger I was rocking a super basic Samsung for quite a while and loved it. Tiny, solid, and worked great. There's something to be said for the old school. The E71 was a great example of this, except for the Symbian part.

I still have my old Blackberry, the thing never breaks down, works like a charm, has never cost me a cent to repair, it does not freeze, and it is simple and black. I do not understand the need to continually update to the newest device, except of course for the applications...I may get an iPhone at some point, but other then that, my Blackberry has been wonderful!

I'm with Leo - my iPhone crashes plenty when on Safari o using some apps, and even sometimes jumps between screens in address book. It is not that often, but at least once or twice a week.

The iPhone is far from bug free, and if the G1 is so much worse I really don't want it at all.

[...] En resumen, por la revisión de Schonfel, parecería que al terminal de Google le falta bastante como para cumplir con aquella promesa de “iPhone Killer” que esperábamos el día del lanzamiento.
