This video from Pud (the guy who started F_ckedCompany and AdBrite) shows us the difference between expensive Monster guitar cable versus $10 cable he bought at check-out. The difference, needless to say, is pretty striking, and not in the way you think.

Nope, that turned out pretty much exactly how I thought it would. Monster cables have always been a rip off.
Not in HDMI
Mr. Burke,
How much would you say you’ve invested in Monster cables for your HDMI setup? I’m just curious…
Thanks.
Don’t tell me you fell for this Mr. Burke:

My anti-virus goes haywire when I pull up this article. Something about Actns/Swif.T.
The problem is that he bought a cable specifically used for amplifier speakers not instruments.

Next time dont be so quick to judge. I’ve been using monster cables for almost a decade and they have always provided great products and life-time replacement warranties.
Yep…Monster Cables are pretty much out there for the sole purpose of separating fools from their money. I actually made most of the cables in my home theatre setup myself. Probably more expensive than buying cheap cables but at least I know I used high quality parts all around.
Yeh $20 says it speaker cable (unshielded). With all that equipment you’d figure he’d know to check the jacket.
I make the best guitar cables…really I do…. :)

Speaker cable or not, a cable that cost that much should be properly shielded from everything you throw at it and it wasnt. It doesnt matter if he’s using a speaker cable or not. Your amp is basically a speaker with an amp section attached, it makes no difference. Plus that short cable can just as well be used to run from an amp head to a cab. Monster cables are shit for what you pay for.
