Rumors of 32GB iPhone greatly exaggerated

MacRumors is reporting that the organizers of the MacWorld San Fransisco 2009 have extended early registration until December 8th.

If the rumors are correct, this year promises to be exciting due to the hoped for updates to the iMac and Mac Mini, as well as the expected refresh of the remainder of the Cinema displays.

Also expected (however unconfirmed by Apple, of course) is the announcement of a 32GB iPhone. Previous versions of the iPhone have been limited in size due to the availability of larger, single memory chips. However in August, Toshiba announced that they would begin mass production of higher density 32GB chips in the 4th quarter of 2008. These chips could presumably be used in future iPhone and iPod touch models.

  • Lets hope this memory enlargement will happen soon

  • That would be great I love the iphone but I really couldn’t get it because of the issues of space so now with this new 32GB I hope to get one if they come out.

  • We are a group of top iPhone Developers in NYC that offer workshops in iPhone Development to bring more developers into our company.

We can not wait for a 32 GB iPhone. It’s a game changer.

  • It wouldn’t surprise me to see a 32GB iPhone but I also wouldn’t be surprised if Apple didn’t announce a capacity boost. I actually think it would be more logical if Apple waited to up the capacity until they release the next generation iPhone. The next gen iPhone could be announced at either MacWorld or WWDC but most likely won’t be released until summer so I would lean more towards a WWDC announcement.
