Following Terminator Salvation, Japan got another trailer for a widely anticipated movie today first. It’s the trailer for the live-action Dragonball movie, which has been recently renamed to Dragonball Evolution (I have no idea why).
If the movie looks like the two minutes that can be seen in the trailer, we are in for a total catastrophe.

Wow! This looks like shit! (especially Piccolo)… I love the anime, but this is very disappointing
I don’t know who the director of this movie is, but Bulma doesn’t have black hair and Piccolo looks like crap. And the sadist thing is I might go to see it for the story and special effects…..lol
Kevin, the director is James Wong. He made Final Destination 1 and 3, Willard (a horror movie, which was pretty good) and The One with Jet Li.
Yes it may look terrible but I’d still watch it for the fighting scenes.
Are they f*cking serious? That needs to go straight to DVD and then into a landfill.
This is a film adaption of the original IP. I would suggest reserving final judgement until after watching the completed project. But really, what did you expect from a film based on anime? Take it for what it’s worth and just have a good time with it.
I’d rather not. They butchered this and it should have never been made.
That made my heart hurt.
Reading your description, I was wondering how it could possibly be worse than the cartoon. Now I know. I wonder if they do sequels, will 3/4 of each be a recap of the previous movie?
Tragic. It looks like a low budget Mortal Kombat knockoff. I had low expectations as soon as it was announced but this managed to lower me to levels of disappointment previously thought unacheiveable.
This is all rong I woudent go see this if my life depended on it ,But it would have been good if TONY JJA FROM that movie the protecter was gocu!!

I’m pretty disappointed after seeing the trailer for this:( I was a fan of the show when I was in high school, and I hate to see them ruin the characters and what made them so lovable in the first place (such as Goku for his playfulness and innocence… by the way, was Krillin in the trailer? I didn’t think I saw him)- it all looks very shallow from the trailer… anyone know if the director watched Dragonball or DragonballZ? just curious
