No Zune phone at CES

I got all riled up last week about the possiblity — really, more of a hope than an expectation — that we might see a Zune phone revealed at CES. Deep down I think I knew I was talking a lot of nonsense, mainly because we know Microsoft isn’t going to abandon Windows Mobile all of a sudden, and we also know they’re planning on expanding Zune-related services to Windows Mobile among other platforms. “Project Pink,” a semi-mysterious project cited in the rumors, is really a set of WinMo-related services, which we will probably see explained further at CES. Dang!

I’m hoping there will still be something Zune related announced

Who cares! HAHA The iPhone already has 11,413 apps. The Zune is DOA!

So I spoke to my contact at nvidia and he has promised that Microsoft is going to be the 1st company to launch a phone on the new tegra platform. At first I was amazed but he repeated it the first was going to be microsoft and then HTC and others will follow.

I wish one of these companies would take the wraps off something sweet for Verizon in Q1 of ‘09, I’m finally ready for a new phone and I just can’t quite pull the trigger on the Blackberry Storm.
