I’ll tell you. When it’s the size of a matchbook. This is the kind of mouse a spy might use — if he or she was unaquainted with the magic of trackpads.
Really, all you need to make a mouse is an optical sensor and a couple contact sensors for buttons, and they can make those on a molecular scale these days. I wouldn’t be surprised if these mousemakers (I’m guessing Vietnamese by the music) get one-upped by some puckish nanomaterials engineers who etch a functional mouse on the side of a human hair.

I don’t have mouse hands, I really don’t see a mouse as something that needs to be made smaller. It might just be smart not to waste technology during a recession on novelty stuff like small mice close to nobody will be interested in.
I beg to differ.
Touchpads are good for email and maybe surfing. But you need to work on an excel file, edit some images or even playing some simple interactive games, it can be a real pain! In fact, whenever I work on worksheet, my cursor would jump to another cell if palm accidentally touches the touchpad as I type. I have disabled the touchpad ever since. Using the old dependable mouse is still a more productive way to work.
I have tried many mice, small notebook ones, gaming mouse, wireless mouse etc etc. For someone who travels frequently with their notebooks, I have chosen a LASER mouse over a normal optical mouse. Wireless mouse is out for me, cos I keep losing the small transceiver that you have to attached to your notebook. A big desktop mouse, though comfortable, is a chore to lug along.
The difficulty is not to simply design a small mouse. It must be practical as well. If anyone can design a mouse that is the size of a matchstick and still works reasonably well , I’m more than willing to own one.
If consumers are willing to pay more for a stripped down Mac (no CD Drive and Ethernet card), just to save on a few inches and pounds, I don’t see why we should not do the same for the accompanying peripherals..
Guess if it has an Apple logo on it, everyone will be raving about it!
