Portable Gliding Simulator can fly you to your backyard
by Shaila Luther on December 15, 2008

simulatorThis thing is awesome. Tom Wilksch, a student at the University of South Australia, submitted the Portable Gliding Simulator as an entry for the Australian Design Awards. The Portable Gliding Simulator is one of very few in existence, resembling a real airplane featuring a full working instrument panel, cockpit, and head tracking. It weighs in at 450kg and can be towed easily to be taken anywhere and set up in a few minutes. The top flips open to produce a large screen and the sides fold out producing steps to enter the cockpit.

Where can I buy one of these and where can I learn how to use it? More pics after the jump.
