I’d say it’s the dearth of compelling titles on the console as well as the perception that it’s more of expensive Blu-Ray player than a real game console. The Wii is a piece of junk. The PS3 and Xbox are going nowhere.

Define “succeeding beyond everybody’s expectations”…

If you mean it’s selling like crazy and they can’t make enough to keep on shelves…then yes, they’re succeeding beyond my expectation.

If you mean they got lucky and tapped into a new market and banked off that without producing any quality games…then yes, I agree to that as well.

But to declare Nintendo the ‘winner’ to a superficial war based on sales alone just doesn’t seem all too right.
