Return to cookie mountain indeed, because a new programmed called Television for iPhone is now available and offers “50 shows from 30 channels” on demand. It’s not live TV – that would be hard – but it’s basically rehashed content CNN, CBS, and Comedy Central. Sadly, most of it isn’t the good stuff (Comedy Central – Standup Highlights, NBC – Nightly News, Meet the Press
– WOOOO HOOO!) but some video is better than no video, right?
The full show list is below but clearly this is all the free crap that’s out there right now. Best of all, it’s $2.99 on the App Store. It also only works over Wi-Fi – no 3G video streaming on AT&T’s network, thank you.

well. that was underwhelming.
a) the app is impossible to find w/o knowing the companies name (app listed under it)
b) the company’s site has the app listed at $3 but iTunes has @ $4
c) the app isn’t available for download.
we’ll see if these guys get out of the gates or not.

Live TV on cellphones without MobiTV, Vcast or MediaFlo? It’s doable. In fact I can get live UK TV on my Nokia phone here in NYC. But Wifi is the way to go for the time being. Carrier 3G networks are jammed.
MMA ! FFA
livestation’s iphone application is in beta testing now. That will be live streams from around the world. http://www.livestation.com/iphone
we are wating 3g
With Orb’s OrbLive you can already get YOUR live TV, not the one chosen for you. It includes a PVR. And you can also get internet TVs like the ones seen here, you can even add any custom channel… Not to mention that it also streams your music, internet radios, and gives you access to your photos… It’s $9.99 in the App Store, but you can try it for free with a limited version called OrbLive Free (it gives you just a couple of random pieces of media).
Forgot to mention, OrbLive works over WiFi, 3G and even Edge!

1Cast might be a better solution. I work with them and their app is free and delivers to the iPhone video news that isn’t scrapped from the web (comes direct from the programmers) and is updated throughout the day. The app and service are free and they will be continuing to add more and more sources of content. You can try it out at http://www.1cast.com
Seems that http://www.myeasytv.com has some mobile TV channels. They probably should work on iPhone as well. Can someone try it?
Actually that line-up isn’t going to attract many people, but hey, video mobile fanatics will line up – for awhile anyway.
Ugh the only problem being it looks like no canadian support. Does anyone know why Canada is alwasy banned from the most popular streaming sites – like Hulu and SNL? I assume it has something to do with Canadian Content laws.

Just paid $2.99 to download this app. Many of the video’s don’t play as they are not formatted for the iPhone. Obviously these guys are just grabbing people’s pod-casts and trying to sell an app wrapped around them. They state on iTunes they have not licensing agreements with these content owners which makes me wonder if I just paid $2.99 for an app that could be empty next week. Trying 1Cast now at the suggestion of another poster. Looks better than this.
Orb works perfectly for live tv and recorded shows (in any format) streamed to my iPhone over 2/3g/wifi. I can view my entire movie collection and live tv anywhere I am. Awesome
My iPhone is the biggest pile of garbage ever I only keep it because I painted it pink and its cute. ::kiss:: <3 MB http://www.materialbitch.com
So will LiveStation, ORB and other mobile Tv iphone apps now terminate the likes of MediaFlo, MobiTv and GoTvNetworks, etc.?
Why shouold I continue to spend $15.00 each month on Mobitv, when I can download an LiveStation app at for only a 1 time only fee of $10!?
