Wow, I tried really hard to make that headline exciting, but it just didn’t work. That’s okay, because I think this little device is a good idea, even if it’s not particularly flashy. These automated vent covers let you control airflow to individual rooms on whatever schedule you choose. No, it’s not cool, but if you own a house it sure is practical.
The vent will open and close according to whatever schedule you choose, which, depending on how your home is heated and insulated, could save you a fair bit of cash over a year. The vents cost less $30 each so it’s not much of an investment, and will probably pay for itself pretty easily.

Hmm that is handy but better would be one’s that work based upon a temperature sensor.
Well supposedly your central heating already does work with the thermostat, but if you have like a guest bedroom or an area that you want to keep warm all the time, this would be handy. I dunno, personally I live in a studio apt with a steam radiator, I can heat the whole place up to like 90 degrees in 15 minutes.
Neat, this gives me an idea that I can do to install something similar but for a full size vinyl window inside a house. This can be used to open and close when you want to add more privacy to your home. I guess you can always have your windows tinted.. ??
Anyways neat idea..
