Wow, 175 days retention and 8 connections for $8 a month? That’s a good deal, but I get free usenet currently from my ISP. Although I’m limited to 1.5mb down, free is free.

Hm, not a bad deal. I wish the retention was a bit longer though. Giganews is up to 240 days.
I’ve been using Newsdemon for awhile, and I have to say that the retention they claim is an undershoot.
On average, I get 200+ days of retention.
I think because they cannot verify this is the case with ALL the groups, they are not advertising it, but they are certainly way over the 175 days.
Been happy with them. Good deal for those looking for a great Usenet provider.
When opening my account I was emailed a user name/password which didn’t
work so I contacted newsdemon’s live support. Here is a transcript of
that first live service chat session:

Immediately after this my newsdemon account was canceled without notice.
Repeated emails to support@newsdemon.com went unanswered. My credit
card has not be recredited.
Note the pattern of behavior, newsdemon ignores your questions, does not respond as promised, disconnects when politely pressed for a response and cancels your account when you do.
I strongly urge others not to patronize newsdemon.com
