ed-ai787_book12_dv_20081230152459If you enjoyed the article from a few months back about the untold story of how the 360 was rushed to market, then this new book is probably right up your alley. It’s about the unique situation IBM was in when working with both Sony and Microsoft and helping design rival hardware. Sounds juicy!

Apparently Microsoft was reaping the benefits of Sony R&D money, basing 360 hardware off research being done for the Cell processor — and Sony had no idea. Kind of a dick move by IBM, but in that kind of business it doesn’t pay to be considerate.

I don’t think I could take a whole book of console engineering intrigue, but if it sounds like your cup of tea, go for it.
