I think we’re all familiar with the infamous Nintendo 64 freakout. And on Christmas Eve Nicholas shared some Wii-inspired freakouts. The following clip was not part of that collection of Christmas cheer. No, this one stands head and shoulders above the rest, like the shining star atop the tree.
Isn’t it a little bit eerie how calculated his reaction is? The dramatic pause, the sudden outburst, and the complete lack of apparent joy in his countenance all make this just a little bit creepy.

Are kids no longer content with a book, or banging around on pots & pans? :)
My kids are always happy with books, even clothing. We’ve taught them to enjoy the basic things of life.
well aren’t you just the perfect parent! My kids don’t watch TV, they work in a homeless shelter 4 nights a week teaching bums to read and they teach violin to underprivileged brats like yours…So there I am a better parent then you.
My kids beat up other kids.
I’ve taught them the best things in life come by force.
Sorry, I really didn’t mean that come out wrong. My kids are far from perfect, and so am I.
But they don’t scream like a demon when they don’t get the perfect gift.
“But they don’t scream like a demon when they don’t get the perfect gift.”
Not to beat a dead horse, but did you actually watch the entire video? I think it’s pretty clear this is *exactly* what the kid wanted and he was thrilled with it. Sure, his first look is a little odd, but it seems pretty clear if you watch the video he really wanted the video game system.
I think that most kids nowadays woudn’t know what to do with a book.
nice digg repost…
Well, considering digg is where you repost from elsewhere, I doubt it originated there
a repost is a repost
Ever think most of us gave up on Digg because of annoying “nice repost” comments like yours? If not for this post, I wouldn’t have seen the video.
Go back to Digg, you are better suited there.
nintendo should just use this for their ad campaigns
This probably is it.
If I wasn’t smiling this morning….that certainly did it! This would make a great ad campaign!
great ad campaign?
puts you a smile in your face?
for whom?… for the wackos out there?
As Marcellus says: “Something is rotten in the state of Denmark”.
The child is obviously displaying the facial contortions of demonic possession. This Wii – it exorcises?
The Wii is amazing. I have it, my little nieces and nephews have it and most importantly, my parents have it. I do not think it will hit the grandparents but that is quite a range.
Actually it’s all the rage in nursing homes because people can use it even from a wheel chair.
Loveley … reminds me of the day when I got a brand new commodore 16 ;-D
staged, or we are looking at the face of a future serial killer.
Just another arab militant.
huh? where did that come from? The kids name is John.
Lay off the pot man.
This boy is radical, call the cia or a exorcist!
Sad in a week he will realize the system has no good games to play. :(
hahahahahahahahahaa
My son has a similar reaction … maybe not that long, but definitely that loud!! We got it for his bday a while back, but still … same reaction more less.
Uh oh… that smile at the end tells it all… hide your small pets!
WOW! I don’t know if I’ve ever been this excited to receive a gift before. That is so great :)
not funny. not interesting. might have been 1.5 years ago when the Wii originally came out. At this point, how about following some real tech news like space travel. See Ars Technica: http://tiny.cc/space3
Ha! Hilarious and disturbing at the same time, indeed. Hey, what happened to FB connect? Was about to login using my facebook account…
http://www.69post.com adult wii games
Watch out, this kid will be shooting his classmates in a few years time
Hilarious!!!!
I would still rather have a PS3
Is this the same kid?

Not a good fit for a marketing campaign — that kid is strange. I’m sure he’s the apple of his parents’ eye, so to say… But damn!
Screaming is fine, jumping around is fine — we all did it when we got what we craved for a year…
But the stone faced-ness. The total lack of a smile (just a little flash of one when he laid down…and then it was gone).
Something is wrong with that apple. Aspberger’s maybe?

fake?
what an ugly little brat. Someone should tear out his vocal chords.
presented by Nintendo
HAHAHAHAHA that freaked me out O.o
Sure looks staged by the person to me.
Spent five minutes on the Wii…rest of day playing with the box. Typical kid formula I’m sure.
dumb planned why waste space on the servers?
*yawn*
Are y’all still over here bitching about how nobody measures up to your false self-concept of being perfect?
