Who knew, but apparently the world’s been clamoring for the sneakers that Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future: Part Two. Shoe collector Mark Kurath’s been trying to find an exact replica since he first saw the movie, initially purchasing a pair of 1989 Nike Air Pegasus shoes and sewing some namby-pamby cloth to the tops of them before throwing in the towel.
Fast forward to the present day and Kurath finally broke down and hired a professional shoemaker to build his dream kicks. Total cost? $4000. That sounds insane to most people but for a guy who has over 500 pairs of sneakers in a dedicated showroom in his house, that’s probably nothing. He’s planning to open up his own shoe store early this year.

What a moron. Those things he paid 4 grand for are no where close to the movies version. He just bought a blue pair of uggs.
Total goob! If I were a shoe collector I think I would at least make them presentable and tuck the laces in correctly….
why…
only girls should have that many shoes.
Now THAT’s dedication.
Holy Schnikies!
whys he wearin them if they 4k
1. They look nothing like the shoes in the movie…
2. You would think the movie studio would have the original pair… he could have used those to recreate the shoes
You stupid fucking pieces of shit, you have no idea that sneaker collecting is an obsession, try living outside your mental box you fucking sheep-people.
I think the word you’re looking for is “sheeple”
Would this “box” you speak of be a shoe box?
I just finished watching the whole Back to the Future boxset in HD 720p quality for the first time. Funny thing, like 5 minutes ago.. So then the movie finishes, so I open up my browser to check the latest among others on Techmeme, and some story about a Wii kid is there. Then I click and there at the top of CrunchGear is a story about Back to the Future. I think that is weird.
I think Back to the Future 1 is awesome, part 2 and 3 are slightly less good in my opinion.
They look cool, but worth spending more than $1,000 and never being able to wear them in public? I can think of cooler stuff to do with it.
This is definitely taking ones obsession with collecting sneakers to the next level… I guess if he likes them thats all that matters.
I think we found a buyer for the Star Trek Captain Chair…….Heck…It’s even $1,000 less then he paid for the sneakers..
No Nike trainers are even worth $10. Nike are for pikey numpties. The blokes collection is whack – not one pair of those I’d want to be seen in. Utter shit.
LOL Adey.. are you holding some deep seated resentment towards a bully that wore nikes in Junior High?
Anyways… the Idea to own the Original Air McFlys are AWSOME.. however the final result is sub par at best..
I hope he at least had the common sense to cop a pair of Nike Air Hyperdunks Marty Mcfly Versions pushed by Lakers Point man Kobe Bryant..
a rather “acceptable version” if I do say so myself!

this is as weird as what they have on the most expensive items sold at amazon,
there is a link in this blog that takes to it…

My question is this. The picture above says “Hand made”. Is that the pair he tried to make first, my bet is yes, N-e-ways, What a waste of time to comment on this
These shoes are sweet.
Just when you think you’ve seen the ultimate in stupidity, someone shows you that you were wrong.
Those shoes look like shit. A 4000 dollar pile of shit.
That is so awesome!!!
