I’ll disagree further. I use Amazon because they are MP3’s, which means they play on ALL of my devices, not just Apple’s.

You couldn’t be any more incorrect. This has nothing to do with DRM — most people have no idea DRM exists or what it is — it has to do with content available. Frankly, Amazon has a much better selection of music available for purchase than iTunes does, especially for older albums. Try removing your foot from your mouth before saying things like “nothing differentiating them from the current top music retailer” , it’ll make for a more accurate (HA!) article.

Here’s a clue – the average consumer (i.e. not you) doesn’t care about DRM. They just don’t. To the extent Amazon has captured any of the mass iPod-using market, it’s because they are cheaper, not because they are DRM-free.

That’s great. I have always thought it’s silly that you can download apps over the air but not songs.
