We saw a leak of the touchscreen interface that BFG Tech’s new Phobos system sports a few weeks ago, but the whole thing is a bit more impressive. Of course, some configurations will run you $8000!
These systems are completely no-holds-barred. Like other super-high-end setups like the Blackbird, it uses only the best components and cost be damned. Check out the specs:

Yes, that’s a GeForce GTX 285 just for PhysX processing. Liquid cooling, build-in-iPod dock, a top-of-the-line proc, mobo, and RAM… this thing is pretty much all set. Possibly the coolest bit though is the touchscreen on its front:

I’d love to have one of those things. Of course, if my computer is anywhere near where I can see it, it had better be quiet as a whisper, which I kind of doubt this beast is. At any rate, you can configure your own starting January 8. Just don’t let your significant other see it.

Meh, I’ll totally pass. I think most people that care about particular brands going in their system are fairly comfortable building their own.
I’m with you for the most part (I build my systems), but there are some who’d rather have it put together, and who still want the best possible performance. If they have money to burn, this is undeniably a great machine.
I thought companies like Dell, Alienware, Falcon Northwest, and HP have done this for years with engineers and system expertise. I thought these guys buy cards from Asia and put them in a box?
Agree with comments above. High end systems made for people for $8000 in todays market, wow good luck. Are they offering life time warranty on this huge investment like they do for their vga cards? I would totally go BYOC, but reccomend others who can’t go with a name brand who has a history of making quality high end machines.
