I’ve been debating skipping the show as well. So much of the stuff can be handled via email and phone. In fact, the announcements already started going live last night. (I can pretty much skip Lenovo’s booth, since it’s all out there.) But there’s no way I can pass up the chance at a crappy show backpack and unlimited, free finger food.

Here are my thoughts on these companies sending the product specs through email.

1. It’s like CliffsNotes for reporters. No investigating needed.
2. You might find their [gadget] truly innovative and rush to their booth first for some “in action” shots.
3. Some a-hole boss demands emailing press for every model of TV they plan to release.

I thought E3 was being scaled back?
