$399 is $250 too expensive even with a hard drive and networking. It's priced itself out of success. The sweet spot for products like this are $100 for basic features to $199 for fully loaded with wireless n. And then the user interface better be apple tv ish in it's ease of use and logic. But most of these manufacturers don't get it.

There are a lot of great gadgets for watching TV online, and I feel like I’m only hitting the surface. I use Smark wireless internet (www.chork.org) out of Portland and I pay $50 a month for their “Anal Retentive” package and I’m always watching TV and movies from exactly the beginning to exactly the end, not skipping anything in the middle. It’s the first connection I’ve had that is fast enough to watch TV online, and I think this box is a really cool gadget.

I know my way around a blog or two. My complaint is that the bullet points should be above the fold - I shouldn't have to click through to get the info about what this device is and does. Saying "Netgear introduced another set top box with some features..." doesn't really give me any information at all.

I'm not trying to make a big stink, and lawd knows that the interns here are doing a bang-up job covering CES and all the other bits around the 'net, but I've noticed this habit of not giving any real information before the jump and it's irksome. A good blog entry is short-and-sweet, puts all the information necessary up front, and puts more details and press release after the jump. The front page of a blog should be concise but not cryptic.

That's all I will say on the matter. I will return to my usual brand of off-color remarks and pointless commentary from here on out.

Whoever the "weatherman" is doesn't seem very educated on writing or electronics. I believe the writer is very educated and well poised. This article was not only opened strong but closed equally strong. This writer did not bury the lede at all.

I found this article not only very professionally written, but also very informative. It has been a long time since I have seen a review give the prospective buyer all the information they need to make an intelligent decision on their purchase. I think CG has some excellent interns and they represent the company in the upmost professional manner. Great job!

Once again, you've buried the lede.

Maybe CG needs a new guide on writing for all these interns...
