Samsung pushing out five new digital camcorders

Samsung just released 6 new camcorder models the HMX-H100, HMX-H104, HMX-H105 and HMX-H106 HD cams, SMX-F34 YouTube cam and the HMX-R10 CMOS-based HD camcorder.

The new H series camcorders are all identical except for built-in storage. The H100 comes with no built-in storage, the H104 and H105 ship with 16GB and 32GB SSDs respectively and the flagship H106 comes with a 64GB SSD built-in. The H106 will be available in April and the others in March.

Here is what is common accross the line:

  • Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan optics with 10x zoom and image stabilization
  • 2.7″ LCD touch screen
  • SDHC slot
  • 1080i, 720p, 480p and time lapse recording 
  • 4.7 megapixel still photos
  • H.264 compression
  • HDMI, component and composite out
  • strobe flash and remote control

The SMX-F34 is specifically made for recording videos for YouTube. It will be available this spring in black, red, silver and blue. Here are the stats:

  • 680K pixel CCD
  • 34x optical zoom
  • 2.7″ LCD
  • 16GB internal flash memory and SDHC expansion
  • USB 2.0 and AV inputs/ouputs
  • 720×480 video with H.264 compression
  • 800×600 still photos

The HMX-R10 is a CMOS based HD camcorder that is supposed to be more conformable to hold. The lens is angled at 25 degrees so that it can be held in a more relaxed manner. It should be available this summer. More detals:

  • 9 megapixel CMOS (9 megapixel still images)
  • 5x optical zoom
  • SDHC expansion
  • HDMI, component and composite out
