Sharper Image looks for a new image with cheap iPod docks
by Shaila Luther on January 7, 2009

The Sharper Image is taking on new pricing strategies and channels of distribution with a cheap line of iPod docks to be sold outside malls and in places like department stores and Bed, Bath & Beyond. The model shown above rotates your iPod into landscape mode automatically when watching movies. These are said to be out in November, so I don’t know why we care about this yet. It’s just an iPod dock.

  • sharp image always brings stunning products in the market.all this new look ipod sounds very nice the 1st one really looks amazing.and the strategy they have opted is really good that no malls, so would be at good prices.worth buying it.

  • Once you break your price premium there’s no going back for your brand, going to be hard to stay in the upscale mindset from now on with cheap ipod products going mainstream.

  • Wow, I’m glad I had never seen the first one before. It looks like a creature from Star Wars that eventually made the cutting room floor.

I think I’d still be more of a fan of either the ibeam or itower, but who’s to say. I’d have to look more deeply into these products
