  • when is it avaiable? Will Verizon sell it???

  • finally palm…finally. the wait is over. time to chuck out my old bashed up treo680…

  • Holy shitballs Palm seems to actually have done something right. That UI looks gorgeous.

I wonder what the underlying OS is though?

  • its brilliant isnt it? ive been waiting forever for palm to do something like this…the OS is Palm webOS – not Nova as reported…

  • Price? Availability? WTF Palm!? Don’t leave us hanging.

  • How much will this cost? Sprints site so far has nothing…

I think they should have demo’d that datawiz software…iphone doesn’t have a real keyboard and this thing can do ms office!

  • cant wait…it’ll be a few months – prob q2…time to save up some money…

  • Sweet! Awesome phone, great job Palm!

  • I loved that charger without wires, deck of card applications which can be flicked through, beautifully smooth touch screen gestures, and smooth integration between all the applications

    A true Wow experience!

  • OK, but what about us “Palm Loyal” customers who have been with the platform for 10+ years?

Will old Palm OS apps run on the new OS?

What about the Palm Desktop?… does the new PRE work with the old Desktop or has the Desktop been overhauled too?

Can I easily migrate all my old data onto the new device?

PS: When will Verizon get to sell it?

    • Backward compatibility? Excellent question!!!

Without some sort of migration path (which naturally includes apps), this is NOTHING BUT a totally new product (in a crowded space), from the same management team that brouht us Folio, Grafitti2, & Cobalt. Palm ‘shafted’ me years ago with Grafitti2 after a 7 year relationship with no option to use Grafitti 1. If the ‘shaft’ me again with no migration path for my apps, and EOL all of their current paradigms, then SCREW ‘EM–I’d just as soon crawl into bed with Apple than let them shaft me again. It’s a relationship guys. A long term relationship! You can’t bite the hand that feeds you.

  • It sounds like Peter Ha jizzed in his pants. Is Palm one of your sponsors?

  • Verizon, Verizon, Verizon!

I’m definitely ready to upgrade from the 700P and I’d like to stay with Palm like I have for the last 12 years.

  • Just so everyone knows, John’s MBA died during the middle of the press conf and he took over my MBP which took over my Scribblelive username. I did not secrete any liquids during this press conf.

  • Great live Blog Peter! Just an FYI. If you want this live blog to appear oldest to newest now that your done, just look under the “Add to Your Site” tab on the SL thread and close it.

That will reverse the order when you reload this page.

Cheers and thanks for using ScribbleLive.

  • Is that it?

I mean seriously now IS THAT it?

And for that you blew through mio of dollars… to present the same the G1 or android has..?

    wtf

  • And wtf was that orgasm about.. you gotta be fucking kiddding me.. is that professional or what…

no fucking excuses.. but JESUS SPANKING FUCKING CHRIST.. is that the best you can do…. a FUCKING ORGASM on a life feed….

PALM = FAIL guess those people betting on a palm crash will finally be right…

  • very wonderful, maybe can setup a new palm.

  • Just what I’ve been waiting for, now I can get rid of my Edge iPhone and go back to Sprint. Thank you Palm!!!! Thank you Sprint!!!

  • I love it I really like nice vibrant colors. Bring that as fast as you can to Europe. Me love it me want it thats my taste.

  • Hi everybody, I am in Europe and with palm since the begining of the Tréo (grafiti, 500, 750v)

I justed received the Tréo Pro and typing on its keyboard generates errors (for its design).

HUGE OPERATIONAL STRATEGIC MISTAKE. If Tréo fans cannot use the keyboard WTF would we choose a bigger phone!!!! I am making as many errors as typing on the iPhone digital keyboard!!

I am VERY disappointed about that because overall the Pro is vey stylish and smaller. So now what shall I do? I am thinking of going back to my Tréo 750v and waiting for the Pré. (also I prefer using WMobile for syncs)

It’s quite incredible!! I think Rubinstein made a big strategic mistake with the Pro: effectively Palm is human centered and my human fingers generate errors writting work infos, it is way more important than the image of the phone.

THIS is the difference between a work phone and a multimedia phone.

    I am very disappointed…

    what do you think guys?

  • Any chance of Palm releasing a WinMo version of this device? I know many would say it is an inferior OS, but it does work well in the business world despite it’s flaws and/or limitations.
