Well, isn’t this exciting? Because Google’s bandwidth needs have exploded it’s looking into making its own router. Quick, cue dramatic music!
The skinny is that Google needs better bandwidth management than its current routers, provided by some company called Juniper, just aren’t good enough. So, rather than try to find some company to design a new router, Google is all, “Nuts to this, we’ll make it ourselves.” So the rumors goes, at least.
Google’s response to the rumor? “We don’t comment on rumors.” Great.
Good, so now instead of just staying logged into google for them to track everything you do they can just do it right at the router.
