This would be nice. I’ve been using this Logitech controller for so long that I’m starting to go crazy. Square enclosures for the analog sticks? Come on! I know that the 360 controller has been connectable with Windows for a while now, but the SIXAXIS and Dual Shock 3 have been strictly console only — until now. An enterprising (and PS3-lovin’) hacker has made some custom drivers that let you use your favorite PS3 gamepad with your PC.

The drivers are available here, but the page is in Japanese so you should probably check with the DCEmu.co.uk forums for more info.

  • Awesome. Otherwise, I use the Logitech wireless one, which is fine for just about every game.

  • Okay, I’m not a console fanboy, but what I do know is that the PS3 controllers are nowhere near as nice as the Xbox 360 ones. This just seems like a waste of time to me. Get the xbox controller working on a PS3 without some fancy adapter, then I’ll be happy :)

    • Its a preference thing. I like them both, but since I have a PS3 and not a 360, I’m pretty appreciative somebody did this.

    • It is definately a preference thing. I can’t stand the 360 controller. It’s an unsymmetrical blob of buttons. Anyway, nothing can be worse than the three hand N64 controller. But, I have been using the perfectly symmetrical PlayStation controller for 12 years now. There is a reason they haven’t changed it. It’s perfect. Thank you for the drivers.

    • i was reared and raised on playstations so i’m very used to the playstation controller. i’m very glad i can use it for all my old pc games.

    • you dumb ass xbox sucks ps3 is way better play both of them and see whats up xbox is for little kids

  • I got the logitech wireless one too but im not 100% impressed. Yeah the square enclosure on the analog sticks doesnt sit well with me, and the buttons arent pressure sensitive like on the Dual Shock controllers. Not good for playing San Andreas cos then driving sucks.

    • I think there must be a patent issue with the round enclosure (sony), and possibly the octagonal one (nintendo). There’s no reason a company as good with ergonomics as Logitech would make such a stupid mistake for years on end.

  • Now if they would get a mouse and keyboard to work on the PS3 in any game, I’d be interested!

  • Sorry, wrong topic. :ups:
