No matter how you feel about Seagate’s reliability, you have to admit that this is a heck of a deal. For only $129, you get a 1.5TB drive with a 32MB buffer. What a steal! Better hurry, these Amazon deals usually don’t hang around that long.
Update: These drives are among the faulty ones… don’t buy, or return if you did. Or try the firmware update suggested by commenter Anthony below.

Newegg has been rocking this price for a little while now.

Tigerdirect has the same price too. Amazon’s shipping was a bit better with $20 next day so I went through them.
Great deal, and I’m seriously running out of disk space, too.
From the comments at Newegg, there appears to be some kind of problem with some of these drives randomly freezing up. Apparently there’s a firmware fix, so do a search for more info prior to buying. Here’s a blog post I found with a detailed description of their particular problem and the solution as provided by Seagate:

Yeah, they’re faulty (post going up in a few minutes)… I’d return if I were you, but if you’re confident in the firmware update, go for it.
Some people have trouble with these in RAID. ALL other reviews are the unfortunate “DOA” that you get from all electronics. It is a lot of space per $$. even with all the bad against them I am planing on buying 3 for raid 0. If i find that they hang i will just use them with out raid. (Also yes when you format these you do not get the whole 1.5TB but I should hope people know that. It happens with all hard drives but the larger they get the more it appears to be. THIS IS NORMAL.)
