Why call people pirates???
I have psp and bought 5 or 6 games already, and didn't have time to play with them all yet. Normally, I would be happy with those games and would NOT BUY a single game more.
BUT, if I get this battery, I would TRY A FEW GAMES more, that I would NEVER buy for the price it costs for the little use I would give them. If I like one or two, maybe I get addict, and will want to have the next collectionist version and I will BUY MORE GAMES in the end. What they call PIRACY gives more PROFIT to them than without it.

Don't worry. I know the guy is working on the IPL. Last I checked they managed to get the IPL figured out now so it should hopefully work with the PSP-3000.

You can't hack it. Although the Datel Max Power Digital can put the PSP-3000 in to service mode no one can fully bypass the IPL signing requirement... yet. Hang on to the battery and wait for a downgrader to come out. My brother has the same problem with his PSP-2000 (TA-088v3).

Oh look Sony being asses again, what a surprise. The PSP is a lovely design, it have some nice games and would be great if it wasn't so restricted in use. I would buy one if:

1. Sony didn't always put their stock holders concerns in front of their customers.
2. If it didn't use an expensive proprietary memory stick.
3. You load your own content onto it via either a memory card or writable discs in a non-proprietary format. Any by content I mean Video, Music and Apps.

Sony make beautiful devices and I think if they made more open devices and stopped spending so much effort and money on restricting their devices they would rule the hardware market and make much more money!

In a lot of ways, the PSP gets a pretty bad rap. I really like mine. I've had a lot of fun, recently, playing God of War, Ratchet and Clank, and Patapon.

There are good games to be had, at least for now. Sony's biggest problem is they ran into a buzz-saw in the DS. They aren't the first to get punked by Nintendo in the handheld game, and they won't be the last.
