I don’t really think all the hype is about celebrity. It is about an unprecedented historic event that we are actually alive to participate in and it is about everyone having hope once again and knowing that it is imperative to all of our best interests, regardless of who you voted for, for this President to be successful. I for one an excited to be able to be part of something that makes our country come together instead of torn apart. Celebrity or not we all need a moment to feel good and an opportunity to share a moment in time with all Americans and the world.

Its nice to see people so interested in politics these days, but I’ve never seen people so caught up in celebrity.

I like Obama too, and I’m hopeful he’ll do a good job. But his entire candidacy was based on celebrity, and on his raw intelligence (and his brilliant campaign) – he had little legislative record or experience to draw from.

Its pretty amazing how caught up in celebrity people are getting. More power to him, hopefully he can actually “change” things in Washington. I wouldn’t mind going a year without seeing an elected official caught in a sex or bribery scandal.

Where I work they are recording it and showing it in the boardroom (its big). People are encouraged to go and bring a sack lunch.

It would be a good way to kill a couple of hours but Im going to pass. I didnt vote for Obama and I dont have any interest in watching it. I voted for Bush (and Clinton when he ran) and I didnt watch theirs either.

Maybe Im too cynical these days. Im just not caught up in the hullabaloo.
