Circuit City is currently in process of taking bids on the retailer. Yup, the retailer is trying to sell the whole thing off. It seems that there are two plans in place. First, the company is taking bids on the sale of the entire retailer. If that doesn’t happen, they will turn to liquidators that will buy certain assets and sell it off in the name of [fake] liquidation sales. Is this Circuit City’s final days? Most Internet pundits claimed Circuit City wouldn’t make it through 2009 and now it doesn’t seem the retailer will survive the month. More as we get it…

Hate to see them go first of all, if liquidators get them should we expect really good deals ? ( judging by the fake liquidation comment I would expect no ) We just had one of those fake liquidation sale here in San Diego by a company called The Mega Liquidation Club which was a total scam : http://www.mycheaptech.com/2009/01/scam-alert-san-diego-concourse.html .
I think a lot of these companies should follow the lead of the popular online retailers like Amazon & NewEgg, didn’t CompUSA get acquired TigerDirect.com ?
Anyways less competition is never a good thing for extreme bargain hunters like myself but thanks to online stores and reviews on blogs/sites that cater to it, I find myself spending less time in a store for electronics. On the same lines, it’s been years since I been in a music store to purchase a cd ( thanks to mp3 ).
I worked at a CC back in the early 90’s. I wonder if CC is going to get rid of all those fancy black/gray/red sport coats it made us wear. Those things were like a polyester/cardboard mix.
yes, they are getting rid of them. There part of our severance packge
