WHO LIKES BICYCLES?! (Whoops, sorry, caps lock.) This little design-thing, Light Lane, caught my eye, and I figured I’d share it with y’all, because, let’s face it, it’s Friday and most of you, myself included, would rather be constructing an army of snowmen or tap dancing on a Brazilian beach than [whatever it is you're currently doing].

What this concept attempts to do is make the streets a tiny bit safer for city bicycle riders. A device attaches to the back of your bicycle and projects an instant bicycle lane onto the road, as this picture show. That way, you can whip about town without a care in the world, knowing that you’re letting other dirvers know that, hey, this here is a bicycle lane.

I applaud the imagination behind this.

  • So know bicyclists will ride wherever they damn well please with increased frequency. Great!

I have and idea to create a device for the front of vehicles that will overlay a red circle with a slash through it on top of your little biker logo. This way, when I run you off the road, I can claim you were riding in a no biking zone!

  • Hey Oy Vey, it’s “now” not “know” you moron. And what is a “no biking zone” on a public road anyway, jerk? Hopefully your vistim would get your license plate # and report your dumb ass.

  • Hey Rob, it’s “victim” not “vistim” you moron.

Its a joke douche, get over it.

  • Hey car-bound angros.. it’s for people like you I carry I heavy chain as a bike lock. It takes off side-view mirrors in a jiffy, and it gets through the thickest of skulls, too.

Last guy to knock me off my bike with his car.. well, he jumped out and started giving me shit, what was I to do? Only had to whip him across the face once..

  • hi everyone,

where can i buy this bicycle lane gadgets?

    cheers

  • I’m not sure this device resolves the problem of its main intention: to create a bike lane where there is none so motorists are more aware of you riding at night. A person driving a car is no more likely to yeild any space unless they see you coming or can see yo in the distance; regarldess of the presence of a virtual bikelane or not. The Light Lane, IMO simply creates a more perceptable visual cue for drivers to see at night. The devices would be just as helpful if it superimposed and other shape on the ground. I actually think it would be much more effective i it were to display a contstanly rotating series of dots that circled the rider and making people think there’s a UFO on the ground!

  • Hahaha! Do you like a Brazilian beach?
I’m from Brazil! And I like the beachs of here, but here it’s not just FUN, hahaha! seriously, everybody think that’s way, and in Brazil it’s just not fun.

  • Wow i would love this see this BIKE in our paradise island… in

    El Nido Resorts Palawan, Philippines

great for touring within the island and enjoying the nature’s beauty while strolling.
