Now that Circuit City retail locations are ran by liquidation scum, there are bound to be a few deals. Sure, most of the big ticket items have been marked back up to their MSRP but there has to be a good deal or two available. My old Circuit City location (3631) was more busy over the last weekend than during the ‘08 Holiday Season. So did anyone score a good deal or two? Maybe a cheap in-dash DVD player or a pair of Polk Audio speakers? Anything? Nothing?

Nothing.
The place looked like a bulldozer ran straight through the middle of it. People were crammed in shoulder to shoulder. I looked at games, TVs, and computers, and didn’t see one deal that Best Buy or Amazon couldn’t match or beat.
I bought a 42″ LG flatscreen 1080p LCD for $700. Marked down from $1,299.00. I thought that was pretty good. Just went in last weekend.
I went to CC this weekend and the place was packed with deal seekers. I noticed that people were still mostly browsing and not buying – 10% still not significant enough
Does anybody know the discount schedule?
Aliens bought most of the Earth technology to give as cute gag gifts.

I got the decapitated head of a store manager for five bucks!
Same experience, lots of stupid people purchasing marked up product with no deals in sight. The store employees were as clueless as usual and said “check back Tuesday”.
Testimony to why they are headed for closure.
Same here. 90% of the items only have 10% discount and that’s still more expensive and everybody else. Of course full of bounty hunters garbing everything that they could. “Look what I’ve bought honey! It was on sale!” – NEWBS!!!!
Stopped by today and 10% doesn’t really feel like a sale. They are saying 30% and the only things that are 30% off are furniture items. Everything else is 10% and it really doesn’t entice me as shopper. Rather go to Best Buy.
Still no deals down here in Ocean County, NJ. Same as everyone else is experiencing – sale prices on marked up items, and 10% off on large items like TVS. Stores are crowded, but 95% of the people walking out the doors are walking out with empty hands. Their 10% off can be bested by Best Buy or online at Tiger Direct extrmely easily. No use going to these yahoos until they realize what a liquidation sale is supposed to be. If they could have sold these items at 10% off for the last couple of years and compete with the other stores, maybe they would still be in business.
no deals here in Utah that is for sure!! If you buy a car radio from them. good luck getting it installed there.. they are not installing anything nor are they fixing anything that they installed for you!! I am glad they are closing..
I was amazed at how many people were buying video games and other things that were only 10% off. Most of what I saw you could cheaper at just about any other store. Having said that, I’m definitely going to keep checking in once or twice a week to see if any remaining stock is worth their price.
In Woodbridge, Va. store. I went last night to see if there were any deals-10% off was not enough for me to open my wallet. I did see a guy with the same 5 routers in line when I first walked in.. so I thought things were promising. He was just an idiot… LOL
Wow.. the store was PACKED on the first day of the sale. Only a couple of registers open with long lines to pay for the stuff that was more expensive than other places. I was interested in an Onkyo receiver which I would have paid $ 449 after the 10% off and the sale would have been final. In a search elsewhere and online, I found one other place selling it for $ 449. Everywhere else was cheaper. Average price was $ 399, with a few places at $ 369, and one at $ 349. No deal here.
circuit city has no deals do not be FOOLED!
I’ve gone back 5 times in the past week and still just 10% off of Retail price on most items. Funny thing is you can go to Best Buy or Target or Walmart get the same thing and still save lost of money.
The liquidators are doing their job by trying to get as much as they can for everything…..thank god for stupid people….
I will keep checking back, but for now Circuit City is still way over priced.
Not only were there no deals, there was a HUGE line because none of the discounts were in the system. Everyone was waiting 45+ mins in line to overpay. Craziness.
I walked out–probably for the last tim.
Do not buy! It is a SCAM. Just take note on the prices from one week and go the next week. Yo’ll see!
There were some good deals this weekend like the Guitar Hero wireless guitar and game for Xbox 360 that my son bought for $25. Don’t think there were many bargains early on but there are some now if you are aware of what market price is.
