Japanese gadget company Lancerlink today unveiled the MPJ-101 [JP], a mini projector that doubles as a portable media player. People living outside Nippon can order the device here for around $1,000.
The LCOS projector is basically a 3M clone and measures 125×55×23mm. It weighs 100g without the battery.
The device features a 640×480 resolution, 10 lumens of brightness and two 0.5 speakers. The MPJ-101 also comes with a remote control, a mini tripod, 1GB of built-in flash memory, slots for SD / SDHC / MMC and MS Pro cards (up to 8GB) and a USB port.
It supports files in the following formats: MPEG-4 (AVI/ASF/MP4), H.264 (MP4)、MotionJPEG (AVI), MP3 and JPEG. MP4/ASF/AVI files can be played via the ArcSoft Media Converter that comes with the device.
The price will be the key for LCOS mini-projector market. I found there is one type of LCOS mini-projector products come from Topwing Corp is the cheapest price in the world. The street price is under $200. It’s possible to be accepted by users.
