Treocentral poster Vyruz Reaper claims to have been given insider info on the launch date for the Palm Pre. His source, who allegedly tipped him off to the 800w, but was only 75 percent accurate told him/her that the Pre would launch as early as February 15. News on the market is palm pre will be avail 2/15. This is from the same source i got some info on for the palm 800w coming out… he was 75% accurate with his info on the 800 and its release.
Now some more info he gave me. 2/15 release, Requires a data plan but NOT a se or simply data plan. He sad thats a benefit of having a plam, not requiring you to change your plan like the iphone. No wording on price. I dont know if he knew didnt know, but he always kinda shut me up when it came to price.

I am betting this is the Sprint launch date of the Treo Pro rather than the Pre. Pro versus Pre is very close…
not so we are launching the pro in january…
Defiantly want the Pre. I’m waiting to upgrade my 2nd line until it comes out. I hope it’s soon!
sprint rep gave me a courtesy call today so i asked about the pre. they said the palm pre would be available by the end of the month. assumed that meant feb.
Will this phone be available for verizon??

No the Pre will not be available on Verizon, the only other version(s) will be a Euro Pre launched sometime this year. A Canadian version is in the works as well.
Was in Sprint store in mall today (1/25) and just asked if they had an Palm Pre. Without batting an eye, salesperson said, not until February 15th.
Sprint gave me a call today; I asked about the Pre. They told me it would be released at the end of January.
Don’t know how accurate that is though.

And Treocentral poster Vyruz Reaper made no less than five guesses on the 800w. Four wrong by four , three, two and one month respectively until finally stating the obvious mid Jul 08 after that had leaked in a Sprint timeline.
