Acer’s 8.9-inch Aspire One on the way out?

While probably not overly shocking, there’s been some loose talk that “Acer is reportedly considering phasing out” the 8.9-inch Aspire One netbook to make way for the 10.1-inch version that’ll be here a few months from now, according to DigiTimes.

Considering phasing out a product and actually planning to phase out a product are two separate things, though. And ASUS, for example, has built quite a nice little business for itself by selling netbooks of all screen sizes. If Acer does phase out the 8.9-inch consumer version there’s talk of a similarly-sized enterprise model, so you’d still be able to get your hands on one in a pinch.
