Who ever said having a dual-screen laptop that looks like a tank wouldn’t get you a little strange? Lenovo seems to think so and is saying as much in what amounts to some sort of internal test advertisement for the W700ds, a dual-screen laptop so massive that it should just be called a desktop PC.
No one can quite tell where this ad came from – probably a pitch to Lenovo that didn’t take – but I’m sure Lenovo doesn’t want it getting out. Unless it’s some viral junk. God, marketing is getting weird recently. It’s like they fired all the good advertising folk.
Note: Comments with the word “sex” in them are automatically kept for moderation but don’t worry – I’ll let them through so you can proposition the girl in the video.

that is one great ad… how hot is that girl! if you’re reading these comments, Giggity giggity giggity giggity, let’s have sex!
Quagmire: Hey Brian, what do you think of my sign?
Brian: “Quagmire’s Cross Country Tour.” Uh, isn’t there an “O” in country?
Quagmire: Nope
Thanks for this John – seriously the best ad I’ve seen all week!
I love it :)
wow this is a nice video/ad , but what can you do with that tiny extra? It should have been atleast 75% of the main screen for some real usage! or it just for showing off a extra wallpaper or clock widget?
It’s where your Photoshop pallets go. One of the primary target markets for these machines is photographers.
Pfffttt…. oversexed…. is there such a thing?
Yes sex still sells but this one of the worst ads I’ve ever seen.
@peterurban
What could this even be a pitch for? It’s way too long to be a commercial.. it’s like that horrible video for that Microsoft sing along program. What’s the point of any of these cheesy things?
Reminds me of action shots of customers in HTTPanties on Thinkgeek for some reason.
Where do i buy one? lol.
This is a geek’s dream: get a girl undressed by showing her your… second screen?
I guess the ad refers to the matter of “size.”
Suppose since I watched it and paid attention must be a good ad, given the number of pitches put before my eyes that I ignore. Might even show it to friends and expect them to say “worst ad ever” but, of course, it’s just the opposite if I’m showing it to them and they’re paying attention to.
So Lenovo, mazel tov, looks like you’ve shot the moon, though don’t know whether it was on purpose or by accident.
What’s the point of an ad like this, people are asking?
That’s the point.
Just a reminder – never buy a used laptop from a man…
come on, that’s the first ad for a computer that actually made me laugh! while it certainly is too long for a TV spot, it still is a great computer ad!
Definitely more entertaining than those Microsoft ads with Jerry Seinfeld!
well it works for godaddy…
the girl: hawt
the laptop: stupid
I love that girl! good choice! a nice face (and body) to see in this geek world for a change!
Body?? What body??? All I saw were shoulders…frigging teaser lenovo…does this laptop attract women who make bets interesting in this manner? coz i’d buy it for that reason.
Notice they don’t show the part of the advertisement where the guy is frantically reading Wikipedia and HowStuffWorks.com to figure out how to pleasure the now naked woman.
SHE IS HOT ! So is the girl.
I’m sorry but was there a product or something being sold here?
Anyhoo nothing says hot like W 700 DS.
Notice how Apple doesn’t use these horrible model numbers and names?
“It’s like they fired all the good advertising folk.”? Really, then why are we all talking about this ad!
who wants to lug around a huge 10+lb lappy??! plus if it didnt have that stupid pull out screen, we’d get to see one of her hoohaas!!
i think only n00bs end up buying huge cadillac lappys as their first laptop.
Man, all I could think of was how sorry I felt for those actors. I hope they got A LOT of money for that. They deserve battle pay for keeping from cracking up at the lines they have to deliver.
This is the nerdiest spot I’ve seen for a long time. But Lenovo – or better ThinkPad- still have this image of solid built – so what, size matters
that is a very sad ad
Love the ad! Beautiful!
That’s right Marketing getting really wired ,all are doing all things possible to get their product popular this is not an exception to that. These are innovative ways to get their product publicized ,everyone looking at the girl than Lenovo laptop that’s for sure.
>>>but I’m sure Lenovo doesn’t want it getting out.
Of course they don’t want it getting out! Nor do they want bloggers like you to write posts about it, nor do they want idiots like me to view it all the way through. Why would you even question this?
I love the ad. But I love our award-winning, 5-star HHOTT View IE/FF browser plugin even more because it can help make the best use of your (monogamous or polygamous) screen(s) with the safe and clickless browsing experience.
