I found a Memorex MVD-2040 at a homey thrift for $5 and it works great with just three buttons on its slim little face, begging the question what could the remote possibly have to offer?
Bear in mind that like most techno-centric geeks I have lusted in my heart, every organ of my body and most of the rooms of my house for Blu-Ray, 'nuff said!
Well I can, I believe, put those cravings on hold for a while because I found the big sister, the MVD-2050 on sale at Target for just over $40. The 1080p and 1080i playback is great and well , WOW. The down side is the Ikea like instructions, would they were as good as and no DTS!
I am sorry, there is a thread here! And I will find it! I would like to know if creating a DIY HDMI "Wye" adapter is wiser than going through a powered switch. Also "Wye" oh "Wye" don't they add a second HDMI input to the rear of the HDTV? Those IEEE guys are pretty on the ball, didn't they set it up so that "bus"power also goes through the wire... Does anyone see where I'm goin' with this, like less wire clutter, lower voltages, lower signal to noise ratio for we few who still care about that crap! 'Just sayin'...
