This is by no means a real Apple product, nor are we trying to pass it off as one. The notebook above is simply a clever mock-up of what a an Apple MacBook Mini (read: netbook) could look like. The touchpad/wrist rest folds on top of the keyboard and then the screen folds down. Plausible? Sure, but it’s also plausible that Microsoft will upgrade Windows Vista suckers for free to Windows 7; extremely unlikely, but still plausible.

It’s a neat design concept, but I don’t see Apple making a “netbook.” What do people want to use netbooks for? Email and light applications like some games and website browsing? The iPhone can do most of that, maybe not the largest screen but it works very well and fits in my pocket.
Rather than going for a “netbook” as a one size fits all solution, I want to hear what people want to specifically use a device for. I see more potential in function specific devices rather than a single device that attempts to do everything.
I want everyone who questions the need for a Mac netbook – “why can’t you be happy with iPhone ?”
To take a deep calming breath and accept the fact that as one gets older and the hand less steady and the vision a bit more blurry, that a larger than iPhone touch screen would be better for us less fortunate old farts.
