Yesterday, we took a look at the Space Shuttle’s cockpit with it’s almost vintage look. Today, we have a look at the first privately funded sub-orbital vehicle’s cockpit. It looks a tad different. In fact, I dare say you could count all the buttons and switches on two hands within SpaceShipOne’s interior. Got to love the off-the-shelf GPS mounted above the main screen too. Classic.

Not just the off the shelf GPS, how about the kitchen timer to his left?
This feels so Buckaroo Banzai. Think it can fly through a mountain?
Only if you have an oscillation overthruster.
Ha, this is more like an “overhauled” B-29 cockpit!!

I love the kitchen egg timer no doubt used for precision re-entry timing!
Hey, that’s the same timer my Mom uses when she bakes her bread! Woohoo!
whatever… that’s just a bad news for those who suffer from aeroacrophobia :D
FYI, this picture has been photoshopped… It’s a picture of White Knight with a really lousy edit done to the EFIS display.
