Netflix streaming launched just a few months ago and already the sevice has streamed 1.5 billion minutes of TV shows and movies. The company stated that over 1 million Xbox’s have connected up with the service to stream content so far. There isn’t an official number of how many Xbox owners subscribed to the service exclusively for the streaming service, but I know of at least one: me. Only time will tell if the service already peaked or if there is still more growing room.

I tried it. It looks like trash. I can watch it with decent video quality on my Mac. But on the Xbox, it is unwatchable. Shame too. Great idea. Just need to improve video quality.
It really depends on what you watch. I have seen some titles that looked awful, but others (especially their HD content) that looked better on the Xbox than it did on my cable box. All in all I think it is about on par with my digital cable service.
My new Samsung Blu-ray player has the Netflix capability and I’m impressed. I only have 3meg broadband but the image quality on my 52″ plasma is surprisingly good. Obviously not DVD quality but better than Charter analog cable. I’ve never suffered *any* buffering once the stream starts — usually takes about 30-60 seconds. The only really obvious codec artifacts are blocky pixelations in dark backgrounds.
Wonder how long it wall be before they jack the price up — unlimited streaming is included in my unlimited (one-at-a-time) mail service plan.
“team america” isn’t available for streaming! i feel so cheated.
I love the service! I don’t game XBL, actually I don’t think I have any games that I can play on XBL, I use it only for the netflix option. I agree with Jim that there aren’t a lot of great titles on it but I’ve found that I watch it more than I do the movies they send me.
I wouldn’t mind a cost increase if they increased the number of titles available, or had better titles available.
i was referring to the pic at the top, but, yea, they need more movies in general.
