Overview and Features:
Health Energy Potion is a tiny 1.69-ounce energy drink that resembles a health vial from a video game. And sure enough, the drink promises “to add +160 to gamers’ HP.” Harcos, the company (“founded by two gamer geeks”) that makes Health Energy Potion, claims:
- 5-8 hours of smooth energy
- Apple-cinnamon flavor
- No sugar, no after crash
- Elderberry, ginseng, biotin and folic acid
- As much caffeine as two cans of Red Bull
The retail price is $3.45 per vial.
Pros:
- Tastes pretty good. Even though there’s no sugar, it’s hard to tell the difference.
- Goes down quickly and starts to work within minutes thanks to a double dose of caffeine. It’s almost alarming – definitely faster than coffee or any other energy drink I’ve tried. One time when I was a little kid, someone hit me in the face with a snowball as I was walking to the bus stop. That’s the only other time I remember being jolted awake as quickly.
- The lasting effect is smooth and even and tapers off slowly, so there is indeed not much of an after crash, if any.
Cons:
- Promises “as much caffeine as two cans of Red Bull” but doesn’t contain as much combined energy ingredients as two cans. I drank three of these but it sure didn’t feel like drinking six cans of Red Bull. The double caffeine accounts for a nice initial kick, though.
- The $3.45 MSRP is insane. It should cost less than half that. A two-pack sells on the drink’s website for $6.90 plus $7.81 shipping and handling. Thankfully it’s sold in stores too, so you can avoid shipping charges.
Halvsies:
- With no quantifiable way to measure my own HP, I am unable to verify if this product did indeed add 160 points to it. I’m pretty sure it added at least 100, though.
Conclusion:
It’s worth a try if you’re into energy drinks. The first ten minutes can make you a bit agitated and antsy but this stuff is aimed at gamers, not quiet blogging, so it’d probably be perfect right before some nice first person shooter action.
It’s definitely worth a try. These guys pack a wallop into a little, tiny container.

Hahaha I love the endorsement – “these are OK. They’re not bad. Go ahead and buy ‘em.” Did you do any gaming while you were on these? Anything active?
That depends. Is typing active? Or reading? I did play a little Solitaire but I gave up after a while. Solitaire is hard!
Hysterical review. Good thing I wasn’t drinking one. I’d have spit it all over my keyboard.
$3.45 is insane
my friend and i went to hot topic, we payed $5.24 for a bottle!
Energy drinks are way too expensive. Just buy pure caffeine and mix it with water. You can get 50g of caffeine for about $30; 50g of caffeine = 625 Red Bulls.

Australians are putting GPS locators on their womenz.
BTW, I would not buy that elixor.
The video-game this reminded me of is Prince of Persia. Old-school PoP, not the newer ones. Props.
How much caffeine is one redbull can? 75mg? two cans 150mg? you shouldn’t drink regularly more than one of those a day then.
I think price is OK but I wouldn’t buy it. Addiction to caffeine sucks.
Oh, man!
The video was priceless. I am glad I ended up watching it – I usually skip the videos in reviews.
More please?
Hey, thanks for your comment. I was going to skip the video myself :)
Yep, pretty funny.
I have no idea why I watched that video but I’m glad I did. That was actually very entertaining. More please.
A buddy of mine sort of thought of this. For my 18th b-day he bought me a shot of Vodka(in a small bottle) and taped over “HEALTH POTION” xD
Great review!
I would buy it to keep the bottle as decoration, but I wouldn’t drink it all in one sitting. In fact, as someone who eats and drinks very healthfully, I avoid drinks that are bombarded by caffeine. It’s kind of ironic that it’ll “add +160 HP to your health,” even though in real life it could actually give you a caffeine-headache if you consume too much of it.
I really wish they could’ve put a real cork for the top instead of a plastic cap, though. It would’ve added to the appearance and made it look much more fantasy-like.
Is that +160 to my current health or to my max HP stat?
I lold
I was thinking, that there should be a mana energy potion as well. Turns out there is: http://www.manapotions.com
Health Energy potion may be beneficial to some but they all have to be careful because some of them might have a bad side effect or may cause something unnatural. It would be better if you consult your doctor before taking one.
Hilarious review!
Who’s an efficient blogger! I’m an efficient blogger! Yehhh!
Love the Dwight impression
FWIW, a can of Red Bull has 80mg of caffeiene.
Meaning this drink, containing two cans worth, has 160mg.
I’m guessing that’s where the otherwise-arbitrary +160HP comes from.
And also, for the same price as this potion, you can go to your local supermarket and get a box of off-brand single-serving “energy drink” powders, with the same amount of caffeine, and get ten 20oz bottles of fruit-flavored “health energy water”. You’re basically paying for the bottle and the geek cred.
Yeah, and for 1/100th the price, I can wrap newspaper around my feet instead of buying shoes. Who cares?
Oh, also.. You can pick up the penny saver and use that instead of paying for newspaper to put on your feet.
Skip this one. Have a Celsius instead.
Keep up the great video reviews, Doug. And in fact, maybe you guys should share your little animations and music with me. I’ve got a smaller operation, but I’ll pretend I’m with you.
But $4? My venti iced coffee at SBUX is less, and I can enjoy sipping it for an hour instead of a shot glass of energy. By the way, whatever happened to Coke Blak – that was tasty and a great idea. They should have offered it in 2 liter bottles.
Doug, you inspired me to reinvent Coca Cola Blak. I found a random recipe online and picked up Coke Zero and iced cappuccino mix. The carbonation went a little crazy though. All over my counter. It’s a little too bitter, I’m thinking I need to try it with regular Coke next. With this frame, I don’t need to count calories. It’s all over. ;)
That was a great review, both video and non-. But I don’t really think I could handle the apple-cinnamon flavor unless it was warmed up. The “boost your HP!” is a cute gimmick, but I prefer to use energy patches (http://www.spotonenergy.com) if I want to feel like I am getting a buzz from the future or something. Actually they just seem to work better– a lower dose, a better boost. Maybe it’s the transdermal delivery?
Blizzard called: they want their Diablo patent back.
Doug,
Excellent work. We embedded your video in our review. We put forth our best effort to cite you properly in our review at http://www.screamingenergy.com/energy_drink_207.php
Let me know if our best citation efforts fall short of expectations, and we should remove the video content from our site at once.

I know that CoQ10 converts food into energy, and is available at most health food stores.
