Looking to build on US sales of its notebooks and netbooks, word on the street is that “ASUS is expected to start marketing its notebooks through Wal-Mart in the second half of 2009,” according to a DigiTimes report.

The company is apparently looking to break the million mark in the US this year. Last year it sold about 650,000 notebooks here. While the actual models of notebooks that ASUS will be selling haven’t been detailed, it’s a pretty safe bet that a fair amount of the company’s Eee netbooks will be offered.

It’s also not clear if the computers will be sold in stores or if they’ll be online-only. Acer’s Aspire One netbooks, for instance, feature some in-store models and some online-only models.
