Sony Japan today unveiled two new series of business projectors [JP], the D- and the (superior) M-series. A release of the devices outside Japan hasn’t been announced yet but is very likely.

The D-series consists of the VPL-DX10, a beginner model with XGA resolution (1,024×768) and 2,500 lumens brightness (price: $1,500) and the VPL-DX11, which for $200 more features the same resolution but produces 500 lumens more. Both projectors come out in Japan March 19.

The VPL-DX15 (pictured above) is the third model in the D-series, identical to the VPL-DX11 except for its Wi-Fi connectivity and will be released sometime in June (price: $2,040).

The M-series projectors stand out with their thickness: Both of the B5-sized devices (273×206×45mm) are just 45mm thick, making them the slimmest projectors of their kind.
