OMG. What is happening to the world. Microsoft is laying people off, Sony records first loss in 17 years, and now, Apple’s US computer sales fell six percent over last January. The company probably isn’t hurting though thanks to the hefty premium pricing, or as we like to call it, the Apple Tax. Apple’s global sales however are doing just fine and grew nine percent during the same time frame that us Americans were losing our homes and couldn’t afford a $2,700 Mac Pro.

Someone sounds bitter about not being able to afford a MBP
And snide comments aside, how likely do you really think it is that a professional blogger can’t afford any laptop? It might not be the world’s best paying job, but when you use a computer for your livelihood, you tend to be able to make the money available for any computer you want.
Above anything else, this is probably the #1 reason people say that Macheads are smug asses. All someone does is report factual news about sales figures, and you have to start in with the insane and completely unfounded “you are just jealous because you can’t afford one.” Did it ever occur to you that being a blogger, there is probably something like an 85% chance he wrote this article on a MBP?
Damn crazy zealots.
That’s what we like to call the PC tax. A.K.A. sour grapes.
Their computer sales dropped only? Not a shock, they’re very overpriced, especially given the drops in high-end PC’s nowadays. Apple needs to realize…we’re in a recession. People cannot afford $2,500 laptops right now. Even some “cool” people.
Even those of us who can afford a MPB won’t buy one because in this economic climate I’ll hang on to that $2500 in case I need it should I lose my job in the near future.
