LG announces the world’s first transparent design phone

LG announced today the LG-GD900 cell phone, which has a very distinguishing feature – a translucent sliding keypad. The phone was designed to make a new fashion statement, and is scheduled to release during the second quarter of 2009. No word on the features yet, but who cares about the features? It’s beautiful!

  • This is not the first transparent design phone. There have been many transparent interfaces on phones in japan and Korea for some time now. My friend had one years ago, but I can’t remember the brand or model.

    In any case, it’s a pretty awesome looking design.

    • If you think of it, post it here and we’ll update. I remember some transparent elements, but not a full keyboard like this before.

      But yeah, Japan and Korea pretty much have the drop on us with this kind of thing…
